Having grown up in a church-going family, my brothers and I were always surrounded by music. With a father who was the pastor, not only were we present each week for praise and worship but we were also encouraged quite early to participate. At age 4, I was introduced to the drums by my cousin, Blake Lewis, and from that moment I knew that that was what I was destined to do.
Despite not having any formal training, my determination pushed me to learn how to play not only the drums but also bass guitar and piano. Week after week I would observe the musicians during church services and tried my best to mimic their techniques from my seat. As years went by, I continued to practice and quickly improved on each skill. The positive feedback of the congregation coupled with the success of local shows, fueled my passion for music and cemented my place in the ever growing industry of music.
